Art With/out Small Children takes place on 14 September in Tobiu Art Community Hall, a former schoolhouse in Shiraoi-gun, Hokkaido. Curated by Jay Brown, founder/director of Lijiang Studio, China, and Japanese composer, sound designer and film maker Yasuhiro Morinaga for the Tobiu Art Festival, it’s the first part in a cross-cultural exchange programme that will see musicians from mainland China head to Japan for workshops and live performances, and vice versa. “….

Boule de Suif, a noise piece released on August 1st, This excerpt is from a show which is in collaboration with poem and dance. The lyrics of this piece is from poem “Madame Bovary and Boule de SuiThey” wrote by Chang Tan.

“其实谁都有觉得自己是羊脂球的时候 
她们只是不说罢了，她们把嘴唇咬破 
干巴巴吞进深夜里委屈的肚皮 
即使脸被涂黑还要咧嘴讪笑 
假装自己属于欺负羊脂球那群人” 
“In fact, every girl sometimes feel that she herself is Boule de Suif， 
However, she just don’t admit it, biting into her dry lips and 
Swallow her suffer into belly in the deep night. 
Grinning gracefully even if her delicate makeover is stained, 
She pretends to be in the group who are bullying Boule de Suif.”
